Cask Filling Optimization

Maximized cask filling with improved volumetric control

Cask Filling Optimization

Currently the filling process is done semi-automatically delivering variable filling volumes below maximum capacity of the cask. This often results in significant under filling or wasted spirit.

The Pilz cask filling system optimizes your spirit levels while delivering maximum filling capacity and operational repeatability.

Reduction of under filling and spirit waste

  • Repeatability of fill volumes below capacity of casks to maximize spirit levels
  • Optimized usage of filling volume while eliminate overfill and spirit losses
  • Increased cycle times and process efficiency

Repeatable and maximized filling

The cask filling optimization system is a palletized filling system consisting of six pneumatically controlled filling heads. With two cylinders the filling heads can be lowered to open and close the spirit control valves. The positioning of the filling heads is fully automatic, and the filling lances are pneumatically lowered into cask for operator initiation of the filling cycle.

This automated process offers repeatable and maximized filling volumes:

  • Design and engineering feasibility study based on using proven technologies to achieve repeatability of maximum filling.
  • Valve operated time delay results in a fully controllable operation.
  • System ensures accuracy and equal filling between heads.
